A friend of a friend kindly welcomed me to her home. It was an opportunity to discover the city of Johannesburg in the company of locals. Her companion grew up in the largest township: Soweto.
And it was in Soweto that I had the honour of meeting his little brother Melusi, a young high school student dreaming of becoming a model.
I offered him a photo shoot so he could have a portfolio to present. At the age of 16, Melusi surprised me with his modelling skills. New generations have access to a huge database that the Internet offers. By watching images and cat walk models he has managed to capture the essence of the modelling profession. I hope this first session will be the beginning of a great career.
